Fall is definitely here. Blink and it will be winter, so I tend to savor these days. It's my favorite time of the year. Crisp, sunny days with cooler nights. Perfect for layers.  Now, you all know I love me some layers. Today was no exception. Four layers. Yep, count 'em, 4- blouse, sweater, vest and jacket! Not to mention the tights to keep the chill at bay. My kind of day. Which season is your favorite? Do you get as excited as I do when the temperature starts to dip?

Red and Khaki Thursdays

Tank, Tshirt, and shoes-Target, Khakis-JCrew,Vest-Atmosphere, Purse-YSL,

It's no secret I work for the Bullseye. I've been there 15(!) years next month. I started back in the day in the stores, where this was my uniform day in and day out. I owned so much red and khaki, I had a closet dedicated to it. When I made the transition to HQ many years back, I purged all of it and only bought a few pieces for when I would visit stores. At HQ, we're casual on Fridays, but red and khaki is acceptable anytime. Because of this, many wear it on Thursday so it feels like two casual days instead of one.  I've just recently gotten back into the red and khaki Thursday drill, partly because it's a challenge to see how I can style it up. What do you think of the splash of leopard?

PS-My latest find at my favorite resale store -June. It's YSL and feels like buttah. I was
SO close to taking the leap on a vintage Chanel too, but just couldn't pull the trigger. Yet.

Mad for Plaid

Tank-Target, Blouse-Husbands, Blazer-Local Boutique, Jeans-Paige, Shoes-Payless,
Bag-Marc Jacobs, Necklaces-F21, local, Earrings-Macy's
I'll admit I LOVE plaid. Always have. I don't know why, but I'm drawn to it. The blazer I have on here reminds me of a wool coat I had a child. I even loved it back then. Some things never change. I love this blazer because it's got just enough cool details to be a bit punk rock. I think that's what I like about it. It can be classic and funky all at the same time. It's all in how you wear it. See the other way's I've worn it here and here.

One Year

Wow. Time flies. I just realized I started my blog one year ago today. This calls for a little celebration. Pass the bubbly please! I started this blog as a way to let my creative side out. I had no intention of being the subject of so many of the posts. Originally, it was about things that inspire me and get my creative energy moving. All of that changed when I decided to participate in a little challenge called the 30 for 30 from Kendi. Remember these mixes? Once I completed that, I challenged myself to continue to work with what I've got and remix my closet more. It's working. One of my team members asked if I ever wear the same thing twice. He told his wife in the 5 months he's worked for me, he hasn't seen me in the same outfit. I have Kendi to thank for that. I've just gotten good at mixing what I've got. Now, don't get me wrong, I've made purchases along the way these past months, but nothing like I used to. In fact, I've even cleaned out my closet twice and donated more bags than I care to share! It's really been liberating. If you'd like me to show you how to remix your clothes, give me a shout. I'd love to show you. Oh, and Happy Anniversary to me!  Thanks for a fantastic first year. Hope your week is starting out right.

Indian Influence

Tank-Target, Blouse-F21, Sweater-JCrew, Skirt-JCrew, Shoes-Seychelles, Bracelets-Maui,
Target, Necklaces-EmersonMade, F21, Watch-Coach
I found this blouse at Forever 21 just before we went to India last winter. I brought it along so I would "blend in" and not have such "american" looking clothing. Funny looking back on it, thinking a pale girl like me would blend in. My paleness was enough to stop traffic-well, maybe not stop it, but I did get a lot of stares. I also scored points with Ramesh's mom-she loved it!

New Classics

Tshirt-StyleMint, Tank-Target, Blazer-Zara, Pants-JCrew, Shoes-Payless,
Necklaces-Target, Bracelets-Target, gift, Watch-Coach

You know I love me some animal print. Pair it with stripes or polka dots and I'm in heaven. Just another mix up (seen here before) of my fave new blazer that I got on clearance at Zara earlier this summer. I'm also loving the new StyleMint tee's by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. They're cute and comfy, who wouldn't want that?!  I've already invested in four of them.

Crystal

My BFF's birthday was earlier this month, but she celebrated it this weekend by throwing party on a boat. The weather was perfect and we had tons of fun. I had been brainstorming on what to make her for a few weeks and then it finally hit me...Crystal!! Crystal is the name of her Gucci luggage bag. The thing is huge! As you can see, it's almost as big as her! Nothing's too good for this girl. Happy Birthday Halina! Cheers to another great year. XO

Make it Monday {Background Challenge}

I'm back! Sorry for the short hiatus last week-technical difficulties involving a my computer. I'm back now and kicking the week off with a "Make it Monday" challenge from Papertrey Ink. This week's challenge is to use a stamp as a background that wasn't intended to be a background. This challenge was perfect for me as I'm always looking for different ways to use my stamps. I pulled this little wine glass from the new Table Service set to make a thank you card for our friends Wade and Lalo. They were gracious enough to invite us up to "camp" over Labor Day weekend. We spent two glorious days in Alexandria, MN at a summer camp. We had the place to ourselves. In that short time, we crammed in wine tasting, boating, a bonfire, gourmet brunch, game of croquet, golf cart tours, and a Labor day feast. I felt like I was breaking every rule from kids summer camp and it was a blast. This card was the perfect way to say thanks to them for inviting us to join in the fun.
