Black and White {Birthday Party}

Saturday night a girlfriend hosted her birthday party at this great bar in NE Mpls. There were DJ's playing amazing house music and everyone was dressed in either black, white or black and white. I saw this as the perfect opportunity to break out my new Jovovich-Hawk for Target dress that I talked about here. It fit the bill perfectly except for the fact that it was so cold I had to double up on the tights. The party was great and Nikki looked amazing in her red dress and old hollywood glamour hair. I love that everyone was in black and white but the birthday girl was in red- what a way to stand out!

It was a long, but exciting week last week. I moved to a new job and am in the middle of transitioning my old one to my old team. It's great to feel energized again and be learning something new. The downside was that by Friday I was a pile of mush. I forgot how much it takes out of you learning a new job. New people to meet, processes to learn, a team to hire, and strategy to create! Happy Hour? um yes please. So that's where I headed after my long week and let me tell you... that beer tasted damn good!

Tucker

Dress-Tucker for Target, Sweater-JCrew, Tights-Gap, Boots-Target, Belt-Target, Earrings-Limited, Necklace-Juicy Couture, Watch-Coach, Bracelet-Local, Bangle-Forever21, Bangles-Gift from my sister-in-law

I'm loving my Tucker for Target (say that 10 times fast!) dress that I recently purchased and talked about here. The only drawback is I see it on EVERYONE at work. That's what happens when you work for a company that collaborates with cute designers. I haven't seen it mixed the way I've got it on today though, so that makes me feel better. I'm going to get a ton of wear out of this little number. Outfits are whizzing through my brain even as I type this. Would it be wrong if I just wore it everyday but remixed differently? No?  Well, maybe not such a great idea. My co-workers might think I'd gone off the deep end. But, here's an even better idea-what if Target took part in the 30 for 30 and gave me 30 items to remix for 30 days? Talk about marketing campaign for their clothes! How fun would that be? I might have to get on that!

Cropped

Blouse-Express, Tank (over blouse)-Target, Cardigan-Vince, Pants-JCrew, Socks-JCrew, Shoes-DV by Dolce Vita, Necklace-Tiffany&Co, Chain-Stella&Dot, Necklace-Forever21, Ring-Silpada
I'm loving the plethora of cropped pants available right now. I used to worry they'd make my legs look short and stumpy, but I've gotten over it and I'm embracing them with full force this spring. In fact, this is my second pair in a week! I've been itching to wear these for sometime and decided that snow or now snow, I was going to make them work. Since it was so cold out I had to pair them with socks, but I kinda like them that way. What do you think? Are you a fan of cropped pants?

Golf Pants

So that snowstorm I was telling you about...it hit us and it made me really crabby. What started out as torrential rain turned to sleet which then turned to snow. I wasn't one bit happy looking out my window to see white covering everything. In rebellion I broke out what I like to call my "golf pants". They're so obnoxiously loud, I love them. I've have them for over 12 years(!) and I'm still making them work. Being that old, could I consider them vintage? hmmm.

I'll take a side of orange

Shirt-Forever21, Blazer-Theory, Pants-JCrew, Shoes-Seychelles, Necklaces-Forever21 and Macy's, Earrings, Macy's, Ring-Silpada

Happy Spring! To commemorate the first day of spring, I added a pop of orange to my otherwise boring outfit on Monday. It was my form of denial for the impending snowstorm we are supposed to get later this week. These shoes are quickly becoming a fav...they are super comfy and I adore the orange color. After seeing B.Jones Style's post about pops of orange, I'm feeling right on trend. Go me!!

Alexa Chung

Shirt-JCrew, Sweater-JCrew, Jeans-Vintage Levi's, Shoes-Seychelles, Necklace-Forever21
So, here it is... my version of Alexa Chung's blunt bob. This was the picture I took into my stylist. I think he did a smash up job considering I don't have hair like hers. I'm loving the shorter length. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to make the curls look better. It will come with practice I guess.

I debuted my new 'do at our Whiskey Tasting Party Part Deux on Sat night. We had a handful of friends over to try various whiskeys. I stuck to Champagne this time. I had vodka for those who didn't want whiskey, but I wasn't in the mood for vodka, so out came the bubbly...and it was delish! The party was a ton of fun. By the end of the night we were taking multiple candid group photos using the timer and tripod. No party is ever complete without a round or two of these! We couldn't get the lighting quite right, so pardon the blurriness on some of them. I could've just been that no one could hold their pose as we were having too much fun.

Let the sun shine in

Blouse-Forever 21, Sweater-H&M, Jacket-Forever21, Jeans-True Religion, Shoes-RSVP, Necklace-Macy's, Watch-Michele, Sunnies-Marc Jacobs

We had a few gorgeous days last week and I spent a few moments soaking them up. I took this picture just before leaving to get my hair cut. I've had my hair long for a while now and seem to always end up pulling it back-a sure sign I need to do something new. Why is it that when you decide to do something different with your hair, it all the sudden cooperates and looks good? I've always had straight-ish (is that even a word?!?) hair. It use to be that when I blew dry my hair, I didn't even need a brush for it to be straight. All of that changed about a year ago. Now I have curly hair. If I air dry it, it's really curly and if I blow dry without a brush, I look like a poodle. I'm not quite sure why it's changed so drastically. The only thing I can attribute it too was being on some medicine for quite a while last year that did some pretty ugly things to me overall. I used to be that girl that would change her hair drastically each year, long then short, brown, then red (a few times even blonde!). But with this change to curly, I'm not sure how it will take to a new style, let alone how to style it.  I guess I'll have to take the risk and see what happens. Tune in tomorrow to see what I decided to do with the new do!

Irish for a day

Blouse-Forever21, Vest-Local Boutique, Jeans-7forMankind, Belt-JCrew, Watch-Coach, Bangle-Forever21, Bracelet-Local, Earrings-Limite, Shoes-BCBG

With a name like Erin O'Leary, you would think I'm 100% Irish. I'm not. In fact, I'm such a small percentage of Irish, it's kinda comical. But, that doesn't stop me from celebrating my Irish pride on St. Patrick's Day. I wear green, eat green foods and drink green beer, but I won't, repeat won't, hit the bars on said day. It's a day for rookies and people use it as an excuse to take drinking to the extreme. I don't enjoy waiting in line for 20 minutes to get a beer or use the restroom. I also don't like being jostled around by every Tom, Dick and Harry in the place. Instead, I went to the gym, got my butt kicked by my trainer (awesome!) and then had a shamrock shake. All in all, a perfect night. What did you do on St. Patrick's Day?

Spring Sprung

It hit 50 degrees on Wednesday and it's looking good for the rest of the week. Bust out that swimsuit...It's a heat wave here in mpls. I'm jumping for joy at the thought of all our snow being gone by the end of the weekend.  Daylight savings time is pretty cool too. I love coming home and still having an hour or so of light left. It's been casual week all week at work, which means I've been living in jeans everyday.

Shirt-Forever21, Sweater-Target, Jeans-JCrew, Boots-Target, Watch-Coach, Bracelet-Local,

We've got a scotch night at our place on the docket this weekend - should be a good time. Who doesn't enjoy good drinks with great friends? What have you got planned? Will you be enjoying the weather? Have a great weekend!

Thinking of you {Card Post}

I had to sit down and make a "thinking of you" card the other night.  I don't like having to make these types of cards - they are never for happy events. I found out last week that my old Director's youngest son was diagnosed with cancer - he's 6. We don't know all the details yet, but they believe it's a kind that is 95% curable. Still, that doesn't make the situation any better. My heart goes out to her and her family during this time. I started and stopped making this card 5 times... I just couldn't seem to get it right. Finally, I just sat myself down and focused. No words can make the situation better, but my thoughts and prayers are with them, and that's what matters most.

Target (or Tar-jay)

Check these beauties out! They arrived in the mail today from Target.com. Aren't they just gorgeous? I didn't even realize they were available yet, but... they are. Just one more great designer partnership with Target! Have I mentioned I love Target (doesn't hurt that I work for them - but they don't pay me to write this stuff, just love the place I work!). When I saw these shoes online this weekend, I knew I had to have them. Now, I could have just run down to my Target to get them, but they were buy one, get one 50% off online only! Now that's a deal I couldn't pass up (add on my team member discount and the 5% rewards for using my Target Visa- can you say STEAL!!). I should be getting the other pair later this week- for some reason they needed to ship them separately (not that I mind because it was also free shipping).

Speaking of Target, Tuesday was our Spring Meeting. Picture a sea of people, dressed in red and khaki, invading downtown Minneapolis on their way to Target Center. There's always a buzz of anticipation as you walk into the meeting - who will be there (this meeting it was Ricky Martin and Jennifer Hudson!), what's coming up this year (Godiva chocolate for Easter? Yum) and reconnecting with friends in from the field. It's always a good time and today was no exception. During the meeting, we had a fashion show highlighting the Go International 5 year celebration. It featured the dresses from various designers we've collaborated with over the years. I snagged four(!) of the re-released dresses last Friday. The store I shop at is an early set store, so I was there waiting for them to open. As soon as we were let in, it was a mod scene in dresses. Girls were grabbing 5-6 dresses at a time. I don't think I've ever seen a line for the fitting room at Target! I went in to get one, walked out with four and was happy with all of my purchases. Can't wait to remix them this spring and summer!
