Yep, I'm a wave. World's worst college mascot. I went to Pepperdine University and they are the Waves. So wrong. But, I loved going there and a silly mascot didn't get me down. When we were in California last week, I brought Ramesh up to Malibu to see my alma mater. He's heard me talk so much about it, it was great for him to finally experience it. It's a beautiful campus and when I was in school, I never took it for granted. I can honestly say I appreciated everyday I was there. Malibu has changed A LOT since I went to school there. They didn't have all the fantastic shopping they have now. Thank god! A college girl's budget wouldn't have gotten me very far and the temptation would have been unbearable. I did stop into the Malibu Country Mart to get myself an Iced Blended from the Coffee Bean(my favorite drink, and no a frappacino is not the same!). I used to sit there and study for hours...aww memories.

It was a long, but exciting week last week. I moved to a new job and am in the middle of transitioning my old one to my old team. It's great to feel energized again and be learning something new. The downside was that by Friday I was a pile of mush. I forgot how much it takes out of you learning a new job. New people to meet, processes to learn, a team to hire, and strategy to create! Happy Hour? um yes please. So that's where I headed after my long week and let me tell you... that beer tasted damn good!

So that snowstorm I was telling you about...it hit us and it made me really crabby. What started out as torrential rain turned to sleet which then turned to snow. I wasn't one bit happy looking out my window to see white covering everything. In rebellion I broke out what I like to call my "golf pants". They're so obnoxiously loud, I love them. I've have them for over 12 years(!) and I'm still making them work. Being that old, could I consider them vintage? hmmm.

30 for 30 {day 25-Cabin Fever}

I just got back from spending the weekend at my girlfriend's cabin. It was a great weekend despite the weather-the high yesterday was -2! We had big plans to snowshoe on Saturday but, the weather was so cold we only made it out for a brisk walk. With all the food and drinks we consumed, it was necessary to do some form of physical activity. Don't you love a weekend where all you do is lounge around, read magazines, eat great food, play board games, watch movies and gab with your girls? It was good to get away.

 I did brave the cold to snap a few pictures outside...amazing how adjusted we are to this weather. It was -2 when I took these pictures.

 This is the snow drift that blocked the front door -which is behind that huge pile on the left of the picture. Needless to say, entered through the garage because we weren't going to attempt to dig our way through.

30 for 30 {Day 19-Snowmaggedon, Again?}

It's snowing, yet again! I'm spending the day under my warm, fuzzy blanket, curled up reading and having more coffee. I've been trying to finish Shantaram since India. It's a fantastic book, just taking me longer to get thru than expected. I feel like I'm neglecting all the other books loaded on my kindle. Before we left for India, I went a bit overboard on amazon and downloaded like crazy to my kindle. I wanted to make sure I had enough reading material. Ha! Apparently I have enough to get me through the rest of spring (if it ever arrives)! 

I did take a break from reading today to make some Chaat - my favorite Indian snack. It's chickpeas, tomato, onion, cilantro, lime and spices. I love to just grab a bowlful when I want something to snack on. Doesn't look like I'll be doing much else today (except maybe shoveling). Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday.

30 for 30 {Day 10 - macramae}

It's finally Friday and you know what that means- I get to wear jeans to work. It's been a heck of a long week and I'm really glad the weekend has finally arrived. Do you ever get home from work and all you want to do is curl up on the couch, poor a glass of wine and zone out to guilty tv? That's my plan for tonight. We don't have any plans and I am going to take advantage of it. What do you have planned for the weekend? Anything fun and exciting? It's supposed to get into the 30's here (break out the summer gear!) and I plan to enjoy some of it outside. Not sure how, but I'll find a way. 

Love this belt! I've had it for a while now and this is the first time I've worn it! Another reason I'm loving the 30 for 30.
