Shhh... here's a few sneak peaks of what's to come at Atmosphere's Fall Fashion Show on Friday. Did you get your tickets yet? If not, you still have time. Swing by Atmosphere in Uptown to get your tickets-they're $10 and you get 25%off your next purchase at the store with the ticket stub. The show's going to be a wicked good time. Show starts at 9p at the Lounge, then stay to party afterwards. Hope you can make it. I'm excited about the outfits I've already picked out. RSVP on the Facebook page if you can make it!

Yelp 50's Drive-in

My girlfriends and I hit up the Yelp 50's Drive-in party on Friday night and it was a mighty swell time. We went with a Mad Men theme It was also timely that The Glitter Guide posted a few articles on 50's fashion, beauty and hair. With so many great inspirations, it was easy to come up with a look that felt right. The event had a photobooth, an unbooth (pics posted), and 50's style treats-great cocktails, snacks and party favors- those white sunnies rocked as did the super balls (although they were tough to keep track of!). Overall it was a blast...Thanks Yelp!

Muse Monday #2
Do you remember this post when I introduced Muse Mondays? That was back in August. Then the whirlwind that was September hit and I didn't come back to them...until now. Here's my second Muse Monday. Want to see the inspiration for this adorable baby card I made for my friend Sarah?

I loved the combo of polka dots and giraffe print on the bangles. I took it a bit more literal since this is a baby card, and then I saw the sweet little baby! I added green to give the card a bit more life. Turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself.
Materials:
Paper: Moss (PaperSource), Dots & Stripes (Echo Park Paper Co), Paper bag (PaperSource), Newsprint (Stampin Up)
Stamps: Sweet Baby (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Frost White (Colorbox)
Other: Sweet Baby Die (Papertry Ink), Onesie Die (Papertrey Ink)

Birthday Month {Part 2- Tablescape and Outfit}
Yesterday I shared the cake I made for Ramesh's birthday. Today I'll show you the table setting and my outfit. Since this was a casual evening with friends, I wanted a low key vibe, but with understated elegance. Both my table setting and my outfit fit the bill perfectly. (Disregard the wrinkled runner-I set it first to see how I liked it and took pictures before, but not after the whole table was completed and set).
Always have plenty of water to offer your guests, especially if you will be drinking. I decided to pile the water bottles up in a tub to make them more accessible. In the future, I'll be putting water in these re-usable bottles to minimize the plastic we use.

I wanted to be comfortable since I still had some cooking to do once everyone arrived. Comfortable does not mean un-stylish. Take a simple black cardiagan, throw a faux fur over it and BAM! instant glamour. So easy and yet so chic.

Birthday Month {Part 1 The Cake}
September was a month of birthdays. Apparently most of my friend's were born in that month. Must have been all those new year's celebrations! I've been a card making machine lately, and still owe my friend Hadley his card (I promise you'll get it soon-I've got it all sketched out!). We had birthday or two to celebrate every weekend, my husband's included. He's not big on birthday parties, so I snuck in a tiny celebration on an already scheduled wine night with friends. I found this cake on pinterest and HAD to try it. As I've gushed before, I could spend hours on pinterest. This was my first time making a cake completely from scratch. It wasn't as tough as I thought and it was so yummy. For the recipe, you can click here.

Jerseylicious {2 for 1 post}
With a title like Jerseylicious, does this card seem appropriate? Trust me it was, it was the birthday card I made for my friend Jess. She flew in from Jersey to celebrate, and what better way to celebrate than on a peddle pub with a Jersey theme. Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I were the only one's who took the theme seriously. As you can see, we went all out. Throughout the afternoon, we had some interesting looks to say the least. A few of which were a bit creepy as the guys actually liked us looking like this!?! All in all it was a fun time, but note to self, look for a course without hills. That last 20 minute ride uphill to get back SUCKED.

Last week I feared fall was going to pass us right by and old man winter was going to get his way. I'm not going to lie, I kinda liked it. As I've stated before, fall is my favorite time of year and I was excited to pull out my cashmere and leather. It was the perfect look to do a bit of shopping in. My friend Terry owns the boutique Atmosphere in Uptown and he hosted a Fall Preview Party at his store back in Septmber. I met my girlfriend there, we sat around sipping wine and chatting while she tried on clothes, and I left with this shirt I'd been eyeing since summer. If you haven't checked them out yet, do so. They'll be having a fashion show at the Lounge on Friday, October 14 at 9pm. I'm styling a look or two and one of my girlfriends will be walking the catwalk, so stop by! Should be tons of fun. For more details on the event, check out their Facebook page or event page.

Marathon
![]() |
| Way to go Amber, Jenni and Amit!! You guys rock! |
Sunday I did one of my all-time favorite fall activities-cheering runners on in the Twin Cities Marathon. The TCM was the first marathon I ever ran over 10 years ago. I've since run 3 full marathons (trained for 4, but that's another story), numerous half marathons and many 10 milers. I never tire of the inspiration I get watching others complete these tests of mental and physical ability. Getting thru September felt much like marathon training for myself-not enough hours in the day and constant exhaustion fogging my brain. I just couldn't get it all done. But, I'm back and have some catching up to do. You'll see some posts this week referring back to last week and some from the week before. I took the pictures, but didn't have time to actually upload them, let alone write about them. So kick back and enjoy the updates, I should be back on track and up to full speed by the end of the week. October is already starting to shape up better than September!

Fall is definitely here. Blink and it will be winter, so I tend to savor these days. It's my favorite time of the year. Crisp, sunny days with cooler nights. Perfect for layers. Now, you all know I love me some layers. Today was no exception. Four layers. Yep, count 'em, 4- blouse, sweater, vest and jacket! Not to mention the tights to keep the chill at bay. My kind of day. Which season is your favorite? Do you get as excited as I do when the temperature starts to dip?

Red and Khaki Thursdays

It's no secret I work for the Bullseye. I've been there 15(!) years next month. I started back in the day in the stores, where this was my uniform day in and day out. I owned so much red and khaki, I had a closet dedicated to it. When I made the transition to HQ many years back, I purged all of it and only bought a few pieces for when I would visit stores. At HQ, we're casual on Fridays, but red and khaki is acceptable anytime. Because of this, many wear it on Thursday so it feels like two casual days instead of one. I've just recently gotten back into the red and khaki Thursday drill, partly because it's a challenge to see how I can style it up. What do you think of the splash of leopard?

| PS-My latest find at my favorite resale store -June. It's YSL and feels like buttah. I was SO close to taking the leap on a vintage Chanel too, but just couldn't pull the trigger. Yet. |
